Bold Design

Communication Link features large, eye-catching graphics to grab your visitors' attention. Loosely based around a communications theme, it's appropriate for any site or company that wishes to appear forward-thinking and dynamic.

The template uses an elegant colour scheme of greys, burnt orange and a dark navy blue. The main page is rendered in two tones of grey, with the orange being used for the arrow graphic and links. The page headers and footers are in navy blue.

This template has a fixed-width layout. The main page body is 750 pixels wide and is centred horizontally in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes. The page sits on a plain slate grey background.

Easy to Edit

The menu options in the template ("Home, About Us, News" etc) are built using plain HTML, making it easy to change the menu to suit your requirements. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc), select the old text and replace it with your own.

The page header graphic ("Making it work for you. Everyday") was created using the widely available Impact font. It's easy to create a new header graphic using an image editor, or replace it with text or another image, if you don't want to keep the original. Similarly, the simple placeholder "Forwardco" logo image can easily be replaced with your own logo, slogan, or other text or graphic.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Spacious, Flexible Layout

The main page of the template features 2 main text columns which can hold plenty of content, and a smaller right-hand column that can be used for news items, or for highlighting parts of your site, for example.

The sub-page comprises a large generic content area, allowing you to place any type of content in the site, along with a smaller "sidebar" area that you can use to highlight important points, or use for banners or other purposes.

All the content boxes are stretchable vertically, ensuring that they will accommodate as much or as little content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the main page on a 56K modem is 7 seconds. This fast loading time was achieved through the minimal use of graphics in the page design and through carefully optimised images. The result is a quick, responsive site that will please your site's visitors.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

Communication Link uses Verdana for the HTML text on the page, and Impact for the logo and header graphics. Both these fonts are usually available as standard on PC and Mac systems.
