Light, Delicate Design

Lightman features a light, subtle design with a relaxed, laid-back feel. The restrained design of this template will allow your site's content to shine through.

The template is based on a colour scheme of pastel blues and yellow/greens on a white background. Most text is rendered in blue, with the links and sub-headings in yellow/green.

This template's fixed-width layout centres the 750-pixel-wide page body in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

The menu options ("about, gallery, news" etc) and sub-headings are created using plain HTML. This makes it really easy to customise the template to match your requirements. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc), select the old text and replace it with your own.

The "welcome" image on the main page is easy to edit in an image editor, so you can replace it with your own logo or other heading if required.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Ready for All Your Content

The main page of the Lightman template features several text content areas, divided into a number of rows and columns. These areas could be used for news items, or for highlighting parts of your site, for example. You can of course edit the layout of these text areas in your Web page editor as required.

The sub page contains a more free-form, flexible main content area, and a "sidebar" area for highlights, adverts, etc.

All the content boxes are stretchable vertically, ensuring that they will accommodate as much or as little content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the main page on a 56K modem is 4 seconds. This fast loading time was achieved through the minimal use of graphics in the page design and through carefully optimised images. The result is a quick, responsive site that will please your site's visitors.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

Lightman uses Verdana for the page text. This font is usually available as standard on PC and Mac systems. Deftone Stylus, available free from www.larabiefonts.com, was used for the "welcome" heading image.
