Simple, Businesslike Design

Yella features a businessy look with a bit of an "industrial" feel to it. The design is simple and elegant, allowing room for the site content to shine.

The template uses a light colour scheme of yellows and caramel oranges.

This template has a fixed-width layout. The main page body is 600 pixels wide and is centred horizontally in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes, right down to 640x480 pixels. The page sits on a light yellow pinstripe background.

Easy to Edit

The sub-headings and menu options in this template are built using plain HTML, making it very easy to change the template to suit your requirements. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc), select the old text and replace it with your own.

It's simple to slot in your own logo or other heading images into the page header, replacing the generic "your logo" and "our new thing" heading graphics if desired.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Room for Lots of Content

Yella's main page features several text content areas that allow you to highlight lots of different stuff on your home page. For example, you could include news headlines, a small "about us" paragraph, adverts, promotions, shoutboxes, etc.

The sub-page features a large, generic content area that you can use for any type of content, and a smaller "sidebar" column for extra info.

All the content areas are stretchable vertically, ensuring that they will accommodate as much or as little content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the main page on a 56K modem is 6 seconds. This fast loading time was achieved through the minimal use of graphics in the page design and through carefully optimised images. The result is a quick, responsive site that will please your site's visitors.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

Yella uses Verdana for the body text on the page, and Arial for the headings and menu options. Both these fonts are usually available as standard on PC and Mac systems.
