Striking, Unique Computer Design

This template has a design like no other! Make your site stand out from the crowd with this distinctive curved look. The template features a generic computer theme, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

The template's colour scheme is based on three shades of blue, with white being used for the body text, menu links, and graphic highlights.

Compute This is a fixed-width template, meaning that the page content stays the same width (600 pixels), regardless of screen resolution. This allows your site to look consistent across any screen size, right down to 640 x 480 pixel displays, with no horizontal scrolling.

Easy to Edit

The headings and menu options in Compute This are built using HTML, so there are no graphics to edit when creating your site. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc), select the old text and replace it with your own.

The main page "computer" image with the "Hello and Welcome" heading is built using 2 image slices (top and bottom). Should you want to change this graphic, you can edit it in Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or other image editor using the supplied PSD file, and put whatever you like in the white space of the "computer screen". Of course, you can also replace it with your own graphics if desired.

The template's hand-built HTML ensures maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Flexible Layout

The main page of Compute This features a main content area, which you can use to introduce the site, and a couple of smaller content "bubbles" where you can place news headlines, plugs for various areas of the site, adverts, etc.

The sub page template contains a more generic, free-form content area, giving you maximum flexibility to insert whatever types of content you require in the site.

Compute This is great for sites about computers or computing, or any site that needs a "technology" look with a bit of a twist!

Fast Load Time

The estimated initial load time of the main page, including images and CSS, on a 56K modem is 9 seconds. The minimal use of graphics on the pages, combined with simple images with small file sizes, results in a very quick-loading and responsive site.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

Compute This uses Arial for all the HTML text on the page. Arial is usually available as standard on PC and Mac systems.
