Template Details: Box of Trix (Green)

Great for Selling Products!

"Box of Trix" is perfect for any site with a product to sell. It features lovely pinstripes, great colours, bold fonts, and some 3D effects that almost jump out of the screen at you! There's plenty of room for bullet lists of features and product highlights, and there's a nice big call-to-action rollover button on the homepage too.

The template's fixed-width layout centres the 960-pixel-wide page body in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

All the text on the page (apart from the text in the boxshot graphics) is simply HTML text, so you don't need a graphics editor to change the headings or menu for example. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.), select the old text and replace it with your own.

You can easily slot in your own logo or site name into the page header, replacing the generic "SITENAME" text.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Fully Web Standards Compliant

Box of Trix uses CSS positioning for layout and conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS level 2.1 W3C standards. This ensures a high level of compatibility with today's and tomorrow's browsers.

Flexible Layout

The PageKit's 2-column layout features a main content area on the left and a sidebar on the right. The homepage sidebar is styled as a 3D "tab" to help promote product offers and promotions.

On the homepage template we've given you a big headline area that you can customize to introduce your site, and a call to action button that you can link to software downloads, registration pages, contact pages and so on. You can of course replace the generic "box shots" image with your own.

With both the homepage and inner page templates, you can replace all of the sample content with your own text, images, Flash movies or any content you like.

The main and sidebar content areas are stretchable vertically, ensuring that the template can accommodate as much content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the home page on a 56K modem is 13 seconds. The PageKit is built using CSS positioning rather than a tables-based layout, which results in a much faster and smoother load of the page, and better compatibility with modern browsers. It also improves accessibility, enhancing the browsing experience for text-only browsers and screen readers.

Box of Trix uses Arial for all text in the page. This font usually comes as standard on PC and Mac systems.
