A Soothing, Reassuring Design

"Divinity" features soothing church photography with relaxing beige tones. Its light, airy design is welcoming and reassuring. It's perfect for church websites, or for any website connected with religion or spirituality.

The template's fixed-width layout centres the 760-pixel-wide page body in the browser window, while stretching the light grey header background across the whole window width. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

All the text on the page is simply HTML text, so you don't need a graphics editor to change the headings or menu for example. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.), select the old text and replace it with your own.

You can easily slot in your own logo or site name into the page header, replacing the generic "Site Title" text.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Fully Web Standards Compliant

Divinity uses CSS positioning for layout and conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS level 2 W3C standards. This ensures a high level of compatibility with today's and tomorrow's browsers.

Simple, Adaptable Layout

The PageKit's simple two-column layout features a navigation menu on the left and a main content area on the right. On the homepage template we've given you a big "welcome" text area that you can customize to introduce your site. The inner page also features an optional light green "intro text" area at the top. With both the homepage and inner page templates, you can replace all of the sample content with your own text, images, Flash movies or any content you like.

We've also given you a light beige "feature" box style that you can use to highlight specific points or areas of your site.

All the main content areas are stretchable vertically, ensuring that the template can accommodate as much content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the home page on a 56K modem is 11 seconds. The PageKit is built using CSS positioning rather than a tables-based layout, which results in a much faster and smoother load of the page, and better compatibility with modern browsers. It also improves accessibility, enhancing the browsing experience for text-only browsers and screen readers.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Divinity uses Arial for all text in the page. This font usually comes as standard on PC and Mac systems.
