Flypast features a relaxed, light and airy design with elegant fonts and subtle colours. What's more, you'll find that the simple, no-nonsense layout is easy to use and easy to modify. Building your site with Flypast is a breeze.

The template's fixed-width layout aligns the main 780-pixel-wide page body centrally in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

All the text on the page is simply HTML text, so you don't need a graphics editor to change the headings or menu for example. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.), select the old text and replace it with your own.

You can easily slot in your own logo or other heading image into the page header, replacing the "light bulb" image. The "MeCompany incorporated" is also easy to change, as it's HTML text.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Fully Web Standards Compliant

Flypast uses CSS positioning for layout and conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS level 2 W3C standards. This ensures a high level of compatibility with today's and tomorrow's browsers.

Simple, Flexible Layout

Both the home page and inner page templates feature a main content column on the left, and a sidebar on the right for promotions, news, adverts, and so on. This simple layout gives you a lot of flexibility.

The template features an optional floating image style - shown on the inner page - that you can use to add visual impact to your pages. Each image can optionally be accompanied by a text caption.

All non-header content areas can stretch vertically, ensuring that the Flypast template can accommodate all your content.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the home page on a 56K modem is 7 seconds. The page is built using CSS positioning rather than a tables-based layout, which results in a much faster and smoother load of the page, and better compatibility with modern browsers. It also improves accessibility, enhancing the browsing experience for text-only browsers and screen readers.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

Flypast uses Arial and Georgia for all text in the page. These fonts usually come as standard on PC and Mac systems.
