Clean Lines and a Simple Layout

"City Time" sports a clean, modern design with some lovely "cityscape" artwork and refreshing lime-green colours. Its simple layout and generic theme make it great for any type of site.

The template's fixed-width layout centres the 770-pixel-wide page body in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

All the text on the page is simply HTML text, so you don't need a graphics editor to change the headings or menu for example. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.), select the old text and replace it with your own.

You can easily slot in your own logo or site name into the page header, replacing the "CITY TIME" HTML text.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Fully Web Standards Compliant

City Time uses CSS positioning for layout and conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS level 2 W3C standards. This ensures a high level of compatibility with today's and tomorrow's browsers.

Simple, Flexible Layout

The homepage template features a lovely cityscape photo and space for a tagline or other intro text, and a 2-column content area for more detailed information. The inner page template is a standard 2-column layout, with main content on the left, and a sidebar on the right.

All the main content areas, apart from the intro area on the homepage, are stretchable vertically, ensuring that the City Time template can accommodate as much content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the home page on a 56K modem is 5 seconds. The page is built using CSS positioning rather than a tables-based layout, which results in a much faster and smoother load of the page, and better compatibility with modern browsers. It also improves accessibility, enhancing the browsing experience for text-only browsers and screen readers.

This template has been tested and is guaranteed to work with the following Web browsers. Other browsers will probably work fine too - they just haven't been tested with this template.

Fonts Used

City Time uses Trebuchet MS for the "CITY TIME" logo and Arial for all other text in the page. These fonts usually come as standard on PC and Mac systems.
