Smooth Yet Fun

Smooth has a slick, professional feel with its laptop photo and clean lines, yet is also cheerful and fun thanks to the curvy boxes, "bubbles" motif and lush colour scheme. Good for any site wanting to portray a lively image.

The template's fixed-width layout centres the 770-pixel-wide page body in the browser window. This ensures that the design looks consistent across all screen sizes.

Easy to Edit

All the text on the page is simply HTML text, so you don't need a graphics editor to change the headings or menu for example. Just open the page up in your favourite Web page editor (FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.), select the old text and replace it with your own.

It's easy to slot in your own logo or other heading image/text into the page header, replacing the generic "company name" image and text.

The template's HTML code was built by hand to ensure maximum compatibility across Web browsers and editors, and is well laid-out and fully commented for ease of maintenance.

Smooth uses CSS positioning for layout and conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS level 2 W3C standards. This ensures a high level of compatibility with today's and tomorrow's browsers.

Lots of Room for Content

The PageKit features a 3-column layout with a menu, main content area and sidebar boxes on the right. The sidebar boxes are handy for feature items, summaries, news headlines and so on.

The main content area can be used for any type of content you like - text, images, Flash movies, or a gallery of thumbnails, for example.

All the content boxes are stretchable vertically, ensuring that they will accommodate as much content as you need.

Fast Load Time

The estimated load time of the home page on a 56K modem is 10 seconds. The page is built using CSS positioning rather than a tables-based layout, which results in a much faster and smoother load of the page, and better compatibility with modern browsers. It also improves accessibility, enhancing the browsing experience for text-only browsers and screen readers.
